2013 Summit: Supporting the Team
January 30, 10:00AM-11:00AM Panel II: Working Together: Innovations in Interprofessional Training
It is a commonplace that clinicians face significant challenges as they grapple with difficult decisions in providing care for patients and families living with serious illness. As the professional literature on clinician training continues to grow, where can clinicians and systems leaders start?
How do they know what works in real, varied health care organizations that have their own unique challenges? Hear from leaders in nursing, chaplaincy, and system leaders on what they have learned “works” in supporting change and fostering an interprofessional approach to compassionate and coordinated advanced illness care. And take part in the breakout discussion session on tested, easy to access resources can clinicians of all types use at the bedside to improve patient and family experience.
Moderators:
- David Longnecker, Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC)
- Cynda Rushton, Johns Hopkins School of Nursing
Panelists:
- Patricia Grady, National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR)
- Richard Payne, M.D., Duke University School of Nursing
